English Victorian Wicker Rattan Stool (c.1880)
This is a very good quality and completely original Victorian wicker rattan stool, with a decorative design, originating from England, circa 1880.

Description
This is a very good quality and completely original Victorian wicker rattan stool, with a decorative design, originating from England, circa 1880. The stool is constructed of woven rush and wicker wood on a solid wood frame in the original natural rush colour. The stool features a bow shaped flat rush interlaced woven seat flanked by raised arms, with a shaped cane work design, terminating in cane ball shaped ends. Below, the stool stands on baluster shaped vertically woven rush legs, connecting by stretchers and supported by shaped spandrels to all sides of the stool. The stool stands on its original brass tipped feet. Originating from a country property in England, this stool is completely original and is a highly decorative item, which would be ideal as either a window seat, dressing stool or piano stool.
This item would look great in a variety of rooms from the hallway, to the living room or bedroom at the foot of a bed.
The item boasts a mellow rush colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
Condition Report
This stool is in excellent original condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no splits to the tops, sides or bottom of the rush seat, neither is there any missing rush material. The stool is solid in joint and ready to use.
