A fine and elegantly proportioned English overmantel of the late Victorian period C 1880.
Restrained rope twist moulding surrounds the original plate and the frame is surmounted by a stylized scallop shell all in the original gilding with a little repair work here and there.
Glass and silvering is in excellent condition with just a hint of patina forming.
140 cm wide x 136 cm high
