A very attractive Edwardian Carlton House Desk, constructed from good figured mahogany with chequered stringing throughout. The castellated top joined with shaped galleries the centre with a hidden drawer. Below are 2 small cupboards with oval inlaid panels and flanked by 3 banks of 3 drawers with brass axehead handles. The sides having shaped lifting lids offering more storage and further axehead pulls. The serpentine front concealing a pull out original leather writing surface with blind & gold tooling. The lower section having a centre shaped drawer flanked by smaller drawers and all with brass ring handles. The whole stands on square tapering legs with chequered inlay and spade feet. Complete with working brass locks & keys. Dimensions:- Max.Height…40.5’’/ 103cm. Width…43’’/ 109cm. Depth…26.5’’/ 67cm. Delivery to most of U.K. £75.
