Early Victorian/Willam IV? Rosewood Piano Stool
A really unusual and rather lovely early Victorian or William IV Piano Stool.
Heavy tripod rosewood base with typical Willaim IV bun feet. Carved balluster support with gorgeous carved 'flower' at base. Tastefully reupholstered seat with striped purple velvet finish and amazing matching tassels with glass beads and pompoms. Quite a statement piece!
Condition is generally very good, there is some age loss of the heavy hand-cut veneer to the tripod base (illustrated). This does little to detract from beauty of the stool. Could be restored but it actually adds to authenticity, history and style of the piece.
A lovely and still very functional item with some 170 years of history.
