Circa 1770, early George III mahogany bureau bookcase with original faux astragal doors to top with floral carvings surmounted by a frieze with blind carvings. The interior is well fitted with pigeon holes and adjustable vertical and horizontal shelves. The bureau interior is shaped and is of exceptional quality with hidden compartments in the brass Corinthian columns. The base has an unusual configuration of 2 short over 3 long graduating drawers, all standing on bracket feet. Finest quality Spanish mahogany, lovely colour and patina.
