Early 19th Century Burr Elm Windsor Chair Armchair

We have for sale a rather charming small early 19th Century burr elm Windsor armchair.
This very attractive Windsor armchair consists of a hooped back encompassing 8 struts and a further two behind which are a further 2 supporting struts fitting into the extreme posterior of the seat. The hooped back extends to sinusoidal arms each terminating in a downward scroll. The seat is formed from a rather lovely single piece of burr elm, which is in turn supported by turned legs and turned stretchers. The chair probably dates to somewhere around 1830 or so and would be a perfect functional addition to the decor of any country cottage.
The chair is approximately 33.5 inches (85cm) high, 20.5 inches (52cm) wide from arm to arm and 16 inches (40.6cm) deep. The chair is in a good antique condition although there a couple of smiles to the seat.
