Early 18th Century Inlaid Oak Wainscot Chair.


Early 18th Century Gothic Oak Wainscot open arm chair.
The back and the top border of the chair are decorated with an inlaid geometric border and carvings forming an arch which encloses a central panel inlaid with a primitive floral design
The chair has broad shepherds crook arms and stout turned legs at the front with a carved frieze.
The chair is in good condition for its age, there is little shrinkage in the back causing a thin separation of the wooden panel

The chair back is 40” high, the front is 23” wide and the seat is 18” high
