For sale we have a lovely early 20th Century watercolour painting of Downham Village under Pendle Hill by the ever popular Lancashire Artist F Cawthorne

This lovely watercolour painting depicts a shepherd driving sheep through Downham Village Lancashire with Pendle hill in the background. The painting is signed bottom left by the artist F Cawthorne.

The painting is approximately 14 and 1/2 inches (37cm) by 10 and 1/2 inches (27cm), it is in an excellent condition and is presented in a new gilt frame.

About the Artist
F Cawthorne was an early 20th century Lancashire based artist who mostly painted local scenes around Pendle and the Ribble Valley. This artist is one of only a few good artists who painted scenes in and around Pendle and the Ribble Valley. As a consequence paintings by F Cawthorne are very popular amongst those who have an affiliation with North Yorkshire and Lancashire.
