Charming Unusual Georgian 18thC Oak Lowboy
Welcome to Mersham Manor Antiques.
A very charming and unusual provincial oak lowboy.
Early George III- c1760.
Of rectangular form, with the top having a moulded edge which then deeply overhangs the sides.
Over an arrangement of three oak lined, moulded edge drawers, having a single long drawer to the top, with two small drawers below.
What makes this very charming lowboy unusual are the wonderful rounded projecting corners to the top of each leg, which then kicks out into an elegant curvaceous cabriole leg, terminating in club feet.
Pretty curved and shaped apron and sides.
All original handles and iron lock.
Wonderful rich, warm colour and patina.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
Bees-waxed and polished.
