Carved Oriental Hardwood Occasional Table
Superb 19th Century Burmese or South West Chinese circular occasional table in padouk or similar hardwood, having a tip-up top, elaborate and fabulously detailed vine and leaf carving to the stem and base, and beautifully carved feet in the form of swans.
Diameter 17” (43cm) Height 32" (81cm)
Condition and Details of Restoration
This item is in original structural condition. The polish has been revived, by our own craftsmen, by hand in the traditional manner. There are some old marks underneath the polish, and minor damage to the carving in a few places, as can be evidenced from the photographs. Overall, though, this piece is still in exceptional condition for its age.
