Cambodian Silver Swing Handle Dish, c.1920s-50s

Here we have a beautifully decorated Silver Swing Handled Dish from Cambodia. The dish has a hexagonal base with six curving panels rising from it. The base and side panels are extensively decorated with scenes of buildings and trees against a textured background, all done by hand, and the handle has a twist and knot design.
The dish was made in Cambodia / Kampuchea and dates to the period between around the 1920s and 1950s when the country was part of French Indochina although occupied by the Japanese during World War II. As was invariably the case, there is no makers' mark of any kind, just the T.90 stamp which marks silver in Cambodia.
Condition is extremely good, with no dings or dents and just the most minimal superficial surface wear. It seems likely that this has been kept as a decorative piece rather than being used as a dish. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The dish is 13.3cm / 5.2ins in diameter and stands 6.6cm / 2.6ins high with the handle upright. It weighs in at a very respectable 70.7g / 2.5oz of solid silver.
Shipping in the UK is £10 by Royal Mail Special Delivery, which includes cover for the value of the dish.
