C. Ramsay Oil Painting Portrait Of Lucy Dated 1952
We are offering for sale this lovely head and shoulders portrait oil on canvas by the artist C. Ramsay, who has signed the painting in the lower left hand corner and dated it 1952. The portrait is entitled 'Lucy' on the back of the canvas. The painting depicts a portrait of a pretty young girl aged about 7 or 8, with her blonde hair in plaits tied with blue bows to match her blue, smocked dress.
Unfortunately, we have been unable to discover any biographical information about the artist, which is often the case after 1940, when the reference books end.
The painting is framed in a 2 3/4" swept, cream and gilt frame and is ready to hang.
Image size: 15 3/8" x 11 1/4" - 39cm x 28.75cm
Frame size: 21" x 16 7/8" - 53.35cm x 42.85cm
Medium: Oils on Reeves Canvas
Condition: Very good clean condition with no paint loss, craquelure or stretcher marks. The frame is in good condtion.
