Bronze of Theodoric The Great

A 19th century bronze figure of a German knight "Theodoric the Great".

The knight is in full armour with a sword at his side and his left hand resting on his shield. The figure is mounted on a square plinth which is inscribed at the back "Peter Vischer 1513".

Peter Vischer the Elder was a sculptor and this figure is a copy of one of his figures around the tomb of Maximilian I, Holy Roman Emperor.

The bronze is in good condition with no repair though there is a piece missing from his right hand. (Circa 1880)
