Beautifully Inlaid French Table or Desk Box c.1860
An exquisite French box made from Rosewood with the most beautiful lid with a central panel with a pretty floral marquetry inlay created from several exotic timbers.
The central panel is inlaid with various brass inlay frames and cross-banded Kingwood. The interior has been re-lined in an Italian hand-marbled paper, perfectly in keeping. The box comes with a working lock and key.
Pretty as a picture and in excellent condition dating to arund 1860. 8 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 2".
