This is a smart looking Banker's desk lamp in brass with a metal hood dating from the early 20th century.

It has a wide decorative band of repeating shell and floral motifs around the base which is very much in the Arts and Crafts style. The metal hood is painted brown with a subtle pattern to simulate leather. It sits on a brown felt base which hides its cast iron core.

Condition: Excellent with minor blemishes to the brass as you might expect given its age. There is also some discolouration to the hood probably caused by the heat from old-style bulbs. It has been rewired and a new lamp-holder fitted. It takes a large bayonet bulb. There is plenty of new gold coloured flex, at the end of which a new plug has been fitted.
