This is a rare and special find - a fabulous Art Deco (1926) fully hallmarked inkwell in the form of a golf ball, standing on a bakelite stand, it is fully hallmarked to both the lid and the main body of the ball for respected silversmith Crisford & Norris Birmingham 1926. Standing c. 2.2/8" inch (5.5 cm) tall with a base diameter of 3.3/8" (8.6cm), the ball itself is wonderful with a patterned design to the outer edges, the hinge is in excellent order opening to reveal the original (snug fitting) shaped glass liner. To the base is a vacant cartouche which is also fully hallmarked. Some light polish wear is present to the ball pattern commensurate with age, but in my opinion this only adds to the integrity of this fabulous item. Whether as a desktop item for a golf fan or as a fine trophy for that special "hole-in-one" this wonderful piece will delight the most discerning of buyers.
