This is a fine and imposing very large French mirror of superb quality dating from around 1870. The mirror has a beautiful painted frame with a lovely soft gilding and attractive rubbed appearance. This has a fine central crest and outward scrolling acanthus detail as well as a deep egg and dart moulding to the substantial frame. The mirror glass is the original mercury plate which has a few historic marks including a fine line (best seen in photo 6).

A super example of great scale measuring 186 cms high by 124 cms wide.
