A fabulous English Trinity House box, always highly sought-after with their nautical theme and romantic story. These Trinity House boxes were made by Lighthouse owners (often in the Portsmouth area of the UK) and sold to owners and Captains of the ships.

This one is made from beautiful Mahogany, the top is inlaid with a Barge with a headland in the distance and a lighthouse on the tip this is framed by a parquetry or Tunbridge stinging.

All the sides are inlaid with parquetry tumbling block panels. The interior has been re-lined in a hand-marbled paper to create a fresh finish ready for use.

A stunning example in excellent condition measuring 8" x 6" x 3 1/2" tall. Complete with working tasseled key.
