Fabulous Antique 12 Setting Canteen Of Solid Silver Cutlery Set In A Mahogany Fitted Table, Sheffield 1926.
The pieces of this exceptional antique sterling silver flatware set have been crafted in the Shell pattern by renowned firm Atkin Bros- Harry Atkin (HA) and is assayed Sheffield 1926.
The firm traces its establishment to Thomas Law in mid 18th century. It was succeeded by Henry Atkin and John Oxley trading as Atkin, Oxley & Co. In 1840 Henry Atkin continued the trade as Henry Atkin & Co at 32 Howard Street, Sheffield.
The canteen was originally supplied by Sharman D Neill Ltd, Belfast.
There is a table & dessert fork replaced with an exact assayed Solid Silver replica.
Each Solid Silver piece has registration number 557275.
The anterior surface of each handle terminal is embellished with the engraved initial 'HPS’.
The reverse of each solid silver spoon features a rounded heel.
This solid silver flatware set consists of 78 pieces plus knives etc
