Antique Silver Full Hunter Pocket Watch, 1918
Antique silver full hunter pocket watch, 1918.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has general light surface marking and a little unevenness.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1918 with a sponsor’s mark for George Stockwell.
From 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.
The case has fairly gentle unevenness to the front and back, and some “pin prick” dings.
The winding crown pushes in to open the front cover. Inside, there is a later acrylic lens which is in good condition.
The dial is also in good condition with gold hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers.
The watch comes in a new presentation box.
