Quality Mahogany Dining Chairs - Straight Leg Chippendale - c1850
A pleasing and quality set of six English Victorian Chippendale revival period classic straight leg dining chairs presented in solid mahogany.
The chairs present very attractively with the classic Chippendale intricate carved & pierced back splat combined with straight leg delivering huge style and robust proportion.
With a generously wide 22" (56cm) seat pad and a useful 18.1" (46cm) seat height this well proportioned and sturdy set of chairs offer comfort in use. They are certainly suitable for daily use if required.
Rising from a stretchered base into the back section providing a carved header rail of serpentine form. The back splat provides much interest with attractive carved scroll form and good width.
The mahogany shows good colour and grain.
The seats are presented with four in a velour and a pairing with a very desirable tapestry needlepoint covering. The drop in style of the seat pad ensures re-upholstery would be straightforward if ever required.
The chairs are in very good solid order throughout.
Overall the chairs represent an opportunity to own a fine set of six gorgeous chairs which will serve well and look fabulous for many decades to come.
