Mid 19th century country child's rocking armchair. Made from ash wood, the square section back uprights are united with a flat top rail and 2 turned rails. The turned arms and front posts are nicely scaled down versions of the adult chair. The chair sits on carved rockers. The rushed seat is probably the original and is still in sound condition. The original condition and good colour and surface makes this little chair a real treasure. Circa 1840
