This antique Vernis Martin French display cabinet is in lovely original condition & has some very attractive features, so please enlarge all the images. I'm not sure if the wood is mahogany or walnut, but whatever it is, it has a nice original colour. The glass is all shaped & original. The inside velvet lining looks original too & is in good condition. This cabinet has stunning gilt bronze mounts all over & they are naturally aged. The scenes on the door & side panels are all hand painted & original. There's a bit of wear showing in one place on the bottom of the middle painted scene, but I think we can colour that out. To be honest, we haven't done anything to this piece & it's just as we found it. I would date it to around the 1880-90's period.
