This is a very attractive French overmantel mirror dating from around 1870. The frame is beautifully decorative with flower and leaf moulded detail and a pretty crest to the top with lidded urn sitting among branches. The mirror retains its original gilded finish and this is softly rubbed back in places revealing a little of the red oxide beneath. The large central mirror is the original glass plate in good clean condition and the mirror retains its original backing board.
The mirror measures 153 cms high by 96 cms wide.
