Antique English Biscuit Box - Coal Scuttle Form
A wonderful late Victorian English biscuit box in the highly collectible combination of solid Oak and silver plated mounts. The box is unmarked but undoubtedly by either John Grinsell or Daniel and Arter.
What of course makes this a desirable example is the form, being created to emulate a coal scuttle or box. Dating to c.1890, the box remains in superb condition measuring 7 1/2" x 5 1/2" x 7 1/4" tall.
