Antique 1920s Cyma pocket watch, James Wadsworth
Antique 1920s Cyma pocket watch, James Wadsworth.
The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which has been identified as by Cyma, calibre 999, which is working nicely. The movement is stamped Swiss made. It is protected by an inner hinged cover which has the name of a previous owner scratched on it, James Johnson Jnr. There is quite a lot of scratching to this inner cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinnois Watch Case Company. The front of the case is in good condition. The back of the watch has some marking and rubbing to the plate.
The glass lens is in good condition with only minor marking, nothing too noticeable at all.
The dial is signed James Wadsworth, Manchester, the original retailer of the watch. The dial is in lovely condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch comes with a double albert, with each chain measuring 25cm long including the T-bar and the clasp.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
