An Attractive Antique Joined Oak Wainscot Chair
Measuring approximately 50" x 22" X 21" (height, width, depth) and with a seat height of 18"
A most decorative piece with dark oak patina.
Probably 18th century with alterations.
The 3 piece ed crest with flowerheads over a rectangular panel with arabesque carving. The raked back with arcaded centre panel with pretty flowerhead and foliate carving surrounded by guilloche decoration.
Further guilloche work and arabesque pattern to cross rails and uprights.
The arms with characteristic punchwork flanking a good plank seat raised on turned front legs and stiles to back adjoined by periphoral stretchers.
