A handsome golden quarter-sawn oak fall front escritoire, secretaire or bureau made in the late 1920's by Heal & Son of Tottenham Court Road. There is a key to the bureau and the lock works. Inside the bureau there are 6 pigeon holes and a small drawer. Below the bureau there are 3 graduated drawers with conservatively decorated edges and original wooden handles. There are no signs of damage or repair but there are as would naturally be expected some ink stains inside the bureau and on the top, these are clearly shown in the pictures. There is a Heals ivorine label in the top drawer edge.
