Edwardian Sheraton Revival flame mahogany writing table

An exceptional quality Edwardian Sheraton Revival flame mahogany writing table, the top having a distressed green cow hide inset with gilt tooling surrounded by chequer band and boxwood line inlaid border, the two drawers having chequer banding, ornate chased brass handles, Hobbs & Co. locks, and superbly crafted mahogany linings with particularly fine hand-cut dove-tail joints. The table is raised on elegant square tapering legs with satinwood panels to each face, and mahogany spade feet. Pleasingly, it has matching inlay to the sides and the rear allowing it to be used in the middle of a room as well as against a wall.
