A very nice 9CT Gold Pocket Watch by J W Benson of London and dating from c1938. The watch complete with a fitted case from the maker's J W Benson Ltd, Watchmakers, Jewellers & Silversmiths, 62 &64 Ludgate Hill EC4 (London).
The watch has a very good quality, 15 jewels, adjusted, Swiss made movement for J W Benson.
The 9CT solid gold case hallmarked with the maker's mark "JWB" for JW Benson, "9" and ".375" for 9 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "C" for 1938/39. There are some minor shallow indents to the rear of the case.
The white enamel dial is in excellent condition. signed "JW Benson, London".
The watch measures 48mm in diameter across the case. The weight is 74.8g
