Interesting 19th.c. Metamorphic prayer chair, sometimes known as ‘Prie-dieu‘. Hinging the chair back on the front of the arms transforms the chair into a raised kneeling stand, traditionally used in private worship. Solid walnut frame with carved detail to the top of the chair back. Excellent original condition with clean upholstery.
