19th Century Lancashire Nursing Rocking chair
We have for sale an attractive piece of Country antique furniture, a lovely 19th century Lancashire beech nursing rocking chair.
The rocking chair is of a typical high-backed form with a shaped top rail over two rows of four turned spindles between back uprights that extend down to curved arms over a wooden seat through which the back uprights and front supports extend down towards the rockers supported by a framework of paired turned side stretchers and turned front and back stretchers.
The chair is 40 inches (102cm) high, 22 inches (56cm) wide and the seat is 17 inches (43cm) deep. The chair is in a good to very good antique condition, although the left rocker has at some point been re-attached and there is a little bit of damage to the joint between the left armrest and the left back support.
