This most pleasing small late 19th century Stirling quality silver snuff box is continental in its manufacture and clearly marked 925 in the base of the interior.

The snuff box is heavily cast and chased in fine silver. It has a strong hinged lid and a firm clasp. Unusually, the top is decorated with a row of five perched birds, each looking in a different direction.

The sides have a foliage and flower design which runs in a central band around the small boxes' perimeter.

The interior shows signs of a gilt finish.

This lovely snuff box is in very good condition. It does show some age related signs of use and handling, with some wear to the high points of the chased and cast decoration.
