1932 silver Limit No 2 pocket watch with chain
1932 silver Limit No 2 pocket watch with chain.
The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Limit name. Limit were importers of watches into the UK, and they were based in Oldham in Lancashire, UK. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a little light scratching.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the back covers for Birmingham 1932, with a case maker’s mark for the Dennison Watch Case Company. Dennisons was a Birmingham based manufacturer who supplied various makers with cases. Engine turned detail to the back of the watch, along with a central vacant cartouche. Overall the case is in good condition with just light surface marks, nothing too serious at all.
The watch glass has a light scratch, only about 3mm long.
The signed dial has its original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track. There are a couple of hairline cracks but they are faint, and quite difficult to see with the naked eye.
The watch comes with a single silver chain, 33cm long excluding the clasps.
The watch and chain come in a new presentation box.
