1930s Swiss chronometer grade pocket watch
1930s Swiss chronometer grade pocket watch.
The watch has a high grade 21 jewel, five adjustments, stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement has jewelled pallets and a snail cam micro regulator, both nice signs of quality.
The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company. It is in lovely condition and the back of the watch has a charming inscription to an obviously much loved member of staff... 'Presented to Mr R C Jones by colleagues and pupils of Spon Lane Senior School, West Bromwich, May 1936'.
The watch glass is in lovely condition.
The dial is part signed, with a blank space to fill in the retailer's name. There is a short hairline crack between 4 and 5 but otherwise the dial is in lovely condition with original blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE.
