18thc three quarter length portrait of Charles Talbot, Duke of Shrewsbury wearing the Order of the Garter.Dated 1714, circle of John Vanderbank (1694-1739).In a gilded Carlo Maratta style frame.

Charles Talbot (1660-1718)was the 1st Duke of Shrewsbury. He was Lord High Treasurer to Queen Anne and George I and also served as Lord Chamberlain from 1710-1715.
