18CT Gold Swiss Fob Pocket Watch, Fitz Piguet


A very good quality, decorative, antique, Swiss 18CT Gold Fob Pocket Watch dating from c1860.
The rear of the case is stamped with "K18" for 18 carat gold alongside the maker's mark "F.F.P&Co." and the case serial number 10415.
The inner cuvette (dust cover) signed "Fleischmann, Fritz Piguet & Co, Geneve".
The outer cover has decorative engraving and an oval shaped cartouche that is free of engraved initials - see photo.
The movement is in good condition and working order.
The dial has the hours in Roman numerals. The dial in excellent condition apart from a small chip on the edge at three o'clock.
It is in excellent condition and working order.
It measures 33mm in diameter. The weight is 27.6g.
A lovely watch in very good overall condition and in working order. It is complete with fitted presentation case/box. The case in good condition with some scuffs and losses to the leatherette.
Fritz Piguet were a Geneva based Company who specialized in superbly adjusted watches and supplied ebauches to most of the major watchmakers during the middle of the 19th century, including Patek Philippe. They were the top contenders among those specializing in complicated watches.
