18CT Gold Pocket Watch, J Cashmore, London c1888

A very good quality, Antique, Victorian 18CT Gold English Pocket Watch by a listed maker John Cashmore of London and dating from c1888.
John Cashmore was born in 1821. The watchmaker is listed as working from 1 North Buildings, South Place, Finsbury, London from c1857, later moving to premises in Eldon Street and working their in the 1890's.
The watch is an excellent example, in very good overall condition and and excellent working order.
The English, plain, 18 carat gold case is hallmarked with the case maker's mark "JH" (probably for Joseph Hirst), the "crown and "18" for 18 carat gold, the Leopard's Head London town mark and date letter "N" for 1888/89. The inner cuvette similarly marked. The case also stamped with the serial number 6569 to match the movement proving both are original and have been together since new.
The English Lever movement is signed by the maker "John Cashmore, 1 North Buildgs., South Place, Finsbury, London" and serial number 6569. The watch is stem wound and pin set.
The white enamel dial is in very good condition. It has the hours in roman numerals and is signed by the maker "John Cashmore, London".
The watch measures 39mm in diameter (across the case). The weight is 59.3g.
