18 Kt Yellow Gold and Enamel Keyless Wind Exquisite Open Face Pocket Watch - Hallmarked for London 1887

An 18 Kt yellow gold and enamel keyless wind open face pocket watch, hallmarked for London 1887, made in England. This exquisite pocket watch has been made specially for Isabel Emily Dane. The case is personalised IED, this concludes that this watch has been custom made for this lady.

DIAL: The gold gilt with foliate engraved centre has applied gilt Roman numerals with outer gilt dot minute markers and blued steel spade hands. The protective glass is in great condition.

MOVEMENT: The gilt ¾ plate English lever movement has cut and compensated bi-metallic balance. The movement is signed with a personal engraving: “Isabel Emily Dane, From Her Affectionate Mother, December 21st 1887”. It is the first time in many years that I find a personal which is personalised on the movement.

CASE: The 18 Kt gold case has a blue enamel personalised monogram “I.E.D.” standing for Isabel Emily Dane at the back within a blue floral border. The foliate engraved cuvette is stamped for 18 Kt gold and stamped with the casemakers initial: TT.

The pocket watch is complete with a box.
