A good quality, rare, 14CT Gold United States Watch Company (of Waltham) Hunter Cased Pocket Watch.
The U.S. Watch Company started in about 1885 and was sold to the E Howard Watch Company in 1903. They only made approximately 890,000 watches. The serial number of this watch is 89,943 dating it to c1892.
The 14CT solid Gold watch case is in excellent condition. It has lovely decorative engraving, the front with a small cartouche with the former owner's initials, the rear with a cartouche with a picture of a house.
The movement in good working order. It only runs about 12 hours but this is the full length of the wind.
