This is a fine quality vintage Italian Art Nouveau glass nest of tables, comprising three tables, constructed with a shaped tubular pewter style and brass metal frame and glass tops, originating from Harrods, London, circa 1980, in excellent original condition.

Description:
This is a fine quality vintage Italian Art Nouveau glass nest of tables, comprising three tables, constructed with a shaped tubular pewter style and brass metal frame and glass tops, originating from Harrods, London, circa 1980, in excellent original condition. The Italian glass nest of three tables was originally purchased from Harrods of London, which denotes the quality of this item. The tops consist of a thick piece of polished edge curved glass, which rests on four brass metal scroll supports, in the shape of a shepherd’s crook, set withing a twin-piped metal tubular frame. On the largest table, the four splayed pewter style metal legs are united by twin-metal stretchers, with centralized diamond shaped interludes. The legs terminate on brass toe capes. The brass & glass nest of tables are solid in joint and heavy to lift.
These Art Nouveau glass nest of tables would certainly grace either a traditional or contemporary setting and is a great investment as it is extremely functional. So don't miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of furniture.
Condition Report:
This is a fine quality vintage Italian Art Nouveau glass nest of tables, comprising three tables, constructed with a shaped tubular pewter style and brass metal frame and glass tops, originating from Harrods, London, circa 1980, in excellent original condition. The brass frames have been sympathetically cleaned in our workshop. There is a lovely mellow aged colour to the brass. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the brass frames but nothing significant considering the age of the item. There are no chips to the polished edges of the glass tops. The Art Nouveau glass nest of tables are heavy to lift, which is a sign of quality. They are solid in joint and are ready to use.
Art Nouveau Movement:
This glass and metal nest of tables design was inspired by the Art Nouveau Movement. Dating between 1896 – 1914, the Art Nouveau period was known for women with long hair, flowers and curves, and so is Art Nouveau furniture. The Paris Exposition of 1900 introduced furniture styles reflecting what was happening in the rest of the design world, such as jewellery and silver. This style of furniture was not warmly embraced, as the sweeping lines were not very conducive to mass production. The French however, held it in higher esteem. Legs tend to be sweeping or cabriole. We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery will be made by our specialised antique furniture delivery service, or in some cases we will use a courier service for distant deliveries.
Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you by email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you. Once you have confirmed you can accept delivery on the provisional delivery date, we will book the delivery in with our shippers and it then becomes a confirmed delivery date.
