A lovely table top bureau, a perfect miniature of the full size version,complete with well and two secret drawers. Lopers to support the fall or slope and numerous pigeon holes, just like the real thing. Mind you this is the real thing, so rare that currently I cannot find another for sale in Britain. There are many period slope boxes for sale but they are not bureaux, this is. It comes with a free Chippendale period oak table that it has apparently sat on for many years. It was originally a fold-over tea table before conversion and has a full width drawer to complement the usefulness of the bureau. The slope is complete with a working lock and key.
