A nicely decorated small Worcester porcelain coffee cup with grooved handle and painted with two scenes of Chinese figures, one side showing a woman holding a fan with a child at her side holding a toy. The other side shows a woman holding a fan, listening to a potential suitor I imagine (given the overly respectful distance between them) playing a pipe, both seated on rather unusual chairs. A single bug is painted to the side to fill an awkward blank space on the cup. Very finely painted with good detail and nice bright enameling. Unmarked, c.1765-1768.

It measures 6cm (2 5/16") high and 5.7cm (2 1/4") rim to rim.

In excellent condition with no damage or restoration and minimal handling wear.
