18th Century Wine Bottle
Mid-18th century English mallet-shaped bottle designed for wine and often used at sea where the shape of the vessel made it more stable. The bottle is made of rich, amber/green hand-made glass with a deep set base and a well-preserved string rim. Surface scratches are consistent with a bottle that is almost 300 years old. Item No. 0180.
